A break with the past

In my last Commentary just before Christmas I promised to write again today with some thoughts on the year ahead.   This was my intention, and in different circumstances I would have written before mid-afternoon of New Year's Eve, when I am writing now.

The last two days have reminded me of how easy it is to make assumptions, and indeed promises which cannot be seen through when the time comes, and I will be more careful in future about how I express my intents!   Those of you who know me will be aware of my belief that life is a metaphor for our spiritual journey, and that everything that happens is for a reason and has a meaning, a learning, if we choose to look.   So, it can be no coincidence that, at the turn of the year and the new, blue moon, I have fallen on a Welsh hillside and broken my arm.   Today has been spent at the fracture clinic which is why my writing to you has been delayed and, necessarily, will be limited for now.

While there is some discomfort, I am sanguine about what has happened because it was so clearly meant to occur.  Some people will argue with that statement, but I know my decison to go out when I did and where I did was irresistable.   For me, the "accident" is symbolic of breaking away from the past, pausing for reflection and healing before moving forward again fully restored.  While this applies to me personally, I feel it is applicable also to humanity and the world:  2009 and the decade before has represented the last gasp of the old order, while 2010 and the years beyond is when the New Consciousness truly comes into being.   So, I look forward to this next phase with joyful anticipation and confidence.  There may be some bumps along the way, but they are built into the road humanity has chosen to travel - and the destination is so very worthwhile.

It is good to know that I can use a keyboard even with a plaster cast on my dominant arm - I did wonder if I would be able to.  So, the Commentaries will continue, and all e-mails will be answered.  My scheduled appointments should be unaffected and the work will carry on as usual.  It remains only for me to wish you a year of peace and wonder to come, and much fulfilment upon your own personal journey.
