Choices and intent

I talked yesterday about how the developed world has the opportunity to choose if and how far to help the people and land of Haiti.  Behind every choice made lies intent: if the intent behind a seemingly altruistic act is for personal advantage, then, karmically, the altruism is negated.  If a choice is well intended but the outcome seemingly flawed, nonetheless the soul (and individual) will have spiritual credit.

Today there is much criticism of the slowness and confusion of the relief efforts in Haiti.   Yes, while lessons can be learned (again) about how to co-ordinate and manage such international operations,  the response from many countries has been instant, compassionate and well-intended.  There is a sense of a world community coming together with a focused purpose, which is admirable and heart-warming.  The intent is pure and therefore perfect, at all levels.
