Symbols of Renewal

Symbol of Renewal.........
In recent days a young heron has been visiting my ponds, hunting in the shallows waiting for a frog or newt to appear.  It is a shy, beautiful creature, a bird of the water and so of feminine emotion and of Spirit.

Unloved by many for their habit of eating the fish of fishermen and fish keepers, herons deserve to be honoured not dismissed:  evidence of herons has been found dating back millions of years, and in ancient Egypt it was believed that the heron transformed the human soul after death.  It has been seen as a symbol of renewal throughout human history, and today it is a reminder of the regeneration of the world that we are experiencing so painfully and wonderfully now.

The heron has a significance for us more personally also as we are challenged and tested at this life-changing time, a time of spiritual initiation and the opportunity to grow spiritually in a way that is more intense than we have ever known before on our life journeys.   We are being pushed to achieve as much as possible of human growth and learning in order to be ready and adequate for the new world that is moving into place: once again the heron is helping the transformation of our souls through a life and quasi-death and new-life experience, to ensure we are fit for the future that is intended for each of us.

The heron is the symbol of hope and change, and part of that change relates to the quickening of the vibration of Earth and the Universal Law that relates to it.  The Law of Vibration explains “everything in the Universe is in motion.  It moves and vibrates, and depending upon whether it is a manifestation of matter, a sound, a thought or something subtler determines at what rate it vibrates.  As you become more spiritual your vibrational rate will increase.”

The Universe is moving and shifting dramatically, and we see and feel the impact of this in world events.  With and from this the rate of vibration of our Planet is increasing rapidly as she undergoes her own initiation to prepare for her new role as a sacred planet; as a result Lightworkers are facing two challenges simultaneously as they struggle with their changing personal spiritual heartbeat and also the need to match, appropriately, the vibration of Gaia.  It can and will be done, but sometimes we will need to breathe more slowly in order to bring calm and peace to ourselves and Her.

In Virgil’s Aeneid, the heron is depicted as a symbol of renewal as she rises from the ashes of the burned city of Ardea.  Metaphorically our world is on fire now, but it will survive the flames and return with its soul transformed and regenerated, beating as one with Spirit.   The heron is here, and there, and with you, for good reason, as she always has been.
