We are not there yet, but the signs are clear to read in the watery and fiery storms of 2019 and in the engulfing viral, airborne, watery storm of 2020 as well, most recently, as the storm of earth – and fire -upheaval in Beirut. All the elements are speaking their message about honouring our world and each other, and there will be more messages to come as the year jolts uncertainly to a dramatic climax at the Solstice and then falls into a new year of further change and adjustment.
The Spirits of Earth, Air, Fire and Water will speak and act through great and seemingly small events, demanding truth and change. The Planet may shake again here and there as Earth reminds us we cannot control her, and Air will show how careless words and false communication can bring about chaos. It will apply to politicians and world leaders in particular, some of whom will continue to misuse communication, and who will find self-serving duplicity is a weapon of power no longer. Transparency and honesty will be unavoidable, and leaders will be held to account.
The weeks surrounding the US presidential election may demonstrate the fragility of a divided country and how close to implosion it is. Indeed, social unrest manifesting in major and minor ways will be widespread in the world as public mistrust, public fear and public demand grows in reaction to a perfect storm of global and national occurrences. The Spirits of the Elements are good teachers.
I have some experience of the power of storms, when my home here in the Welsh mountains was struck by lightning three times in the last five years: on the second occasion the lightning passed through my phone line into me as I worked at my desk, unaware I was beneath the eye of the storm and in the line of the storm, knocking me out. Each time there was some damage but each time it was put right, and it has left me with a deep respect for the power of nature and the voice of the Gods.
In similar situations for other people I know great loss and sadness has ensued, and I know how lucky I was to have survived my personal lightning storms. Storms are striking our world with force now, and they will affect people and nations differently. They are testing our resolve and our discernment, challenging our values and undermining our expectations: we cannot deny them nor control them, but need to accept their existence while doing what we can to prepare for them, to be adaptable to them, and to move forward from them constructively. Above all, we must not fear the storms, instead we can listen to them and see them as the destroyers of the obsolete and the bridge to something new and welcome.
The eye of the storm is a place of calm surrounded by a tumult of strong winds, rain, lightning and thunder. As we continue to be hit by our own storms here and there in this time of great change, it helps to know that somewhere there is a sanctuary of peace and safety whatever is going on around us, and that Spirit can be found there, and everywhere. It may be in your heart.
Look for the divine presence in the eye of your storm, any storm, and It, the Lord of the Fifth Element of Spirit, will help you through the tumult to the peace beyond. The angelic presence is always, always there.

Phew, that sounds like a challenge has been issued to us by everything but us. Hopefully we will take heed and pay attention Claire.
