Meditation is not a mandatory part of being spiritual! However, it is an excellent way to encourage a sense of peace and calm within yourself, as well as helping you to develop your relationship with your spiritual helpers and the spiritual realms generally.
There are many different ways to meditate and you will find through practice the one that suits you best. A simple but effective way is to put aside some time, on a daily basis if you can, to sit quietly with an empty mind, just ‘being’. It quietens the mind wonderfully and can bring about a profound sense of spiritual connection. I recommend it highly, particularly for those who are starting out on their active spiritual path and wish to promote spiritual growth.
