Mysteriously, humanity has chosen to walk the path to transition which is the most challenging, even though easier climbs are available, and we can witness this time and again in our own lives, sometimes, and in external events also. The Syrian revolution is a good example of this: ineptitude, passivity and procrastination by the UN and world leaders have allowed a problematic but manageable situation to get out of control and become critical. Great fear is on the streets of Damascus today, and in the minds of many observers of foreign affairs, and this fear could be the greatest enemy of all.
Already there is much talk of ominous “what-if” scenarios involving Iran, Israel, nuclear capability, western responses, sectarian wars and so on. While it is important, always, to speak the truth and to be realistic, speculation – particularly when it is negative – can only exacerbate uncertainty and enable fear to become a self-fulfilling prophecy. Already, the energy of a difficult national situation has intensified greatly both within Syria and far beyond, and fear and expectation are partially, at least, responsible for this.
I have no solutions for the situation in Syria, but I have no fear about it either. I am increasingly conscious of the influence of the Fourth Ray of Harmony* through Conflict, the spiritual band of energy which governs our planet now. From this war must come peace, and peace in Syria will help bring harmony to the world. That is my certainty.
