The Coronation, and the Seventh Ray

The Seventh Ray, the great shaft of divine energy that is beginning to influence Earth and that will propel us into new dimensions and cycles of time, governing our way of life and being for thousands of years to come, is about ritual and order, rhythm and practicality, understanding of time and space, creating order out of chaos, and about magical power. It is about working as the great Magician to help the world and nature, and to anchor Spirit on the Planet and in the hearts of men and women. The Coronation took place in 1953, as Britain reeled still from the destruction of a great war. The ceremony, prepared for for 16 months and rigorously rehearsed like an elaborate dance, followed precisely the format of all crownings in Britain for a thousand years, one that is the oldest and most unique in the world – ancient ritual and order personified. The symbols of temporal and spiritual power used in the Coronation are extraordinary. The two crowns, the orb, sceptre, ring, ampulla and spoon are heavy with pure gold and precious stones, each with its connection to Earth or water and each emanating the power that comes from being used just for sacred rite, touched only by those with the right to do so. While the greater part of the Coronation is witnessed by others, the moment of the anointing of the head of the Monarch, all finery removed, is veiled, just as in a spiritual initiation – a blessing by God that is so overwhelming in its sacredness it must be shared with no-one. The Sovereign’s Sceptre is believed to stand for good governance and royal authority, which is a further expression of the Seventh Ray in manifestation. There is a deeper spiritual meaning, however: esoterically, at every significant turning point on a soul’s journey, as a new cycle begins, the individual undertakes a ceremony of ritual that is always the same, according to the level that has been reached. Every initiation is impulsed by the Seventh Ray in its ceremony and solemn ritual. The more advanced the soul, the more complex and detailed the process, and the higher the status of the initiator. A Rod of Initiation is used by the initiator, to activate and expand certain etheric centres, and to increase the vibration: the Coronation Sceptre can be said to be the symbol of the Rod of Initiation, and so in itself it is of great spiritual significance.
