Diwali and the New Moon are fusing into one, and the combination creates light and hope. Many around the world this week will celebrate the annual Festival of Light and many too will work with ritual and reverence to mark the birth of another unique Moon. Between them a multitude of millions will be focused on what is above and not what is below, and the joy along with the hope will touch the rest of the human world even if the humans do not know it.
The power the celebrants have, the power you have, to affect transformation is far greater than you may think. The peace of your energy and the love in your heart affects everything: it is like a domino that falls and touches another and another… until the impact comes full circle and returns to you, more significant than ever before.
What you give empowers many and strengthens you too. That is the nature of karma, your best friend if you understand truly the nature of how it works, and also your greatest teacher.
Diwali celebrates the victory of light over darkness and good over evil, and the significance of this great festival is demonstrated more strongly than ever this year as the light is much challenged in many parts of an unstable and hurt world. It is associated also with new beginnings and so its closeness to the New Moon, the epitome of opportunity for new creation, makes the likelihood of a new cycle of goodness far stronger. A new cycle of another more painful nature is also possible, and this is where your awareness, commitment and wisdom are so important.
Being an influencer can take many forms. You yourself are an influencer but it is up to you to determine how you wish to use this power. If you do nothing, no one will hear you; if you are fearful, you will help the agents of the shadow; if you trust and believe in the power and the presence of the light you can move the stones from people's hearts, the motes from people's eyes, and the blocks from people's ears. You are an influencer, and the more awake you are to your potential the more you will help an achingly needy world. You will help yourself too.
Whatever your religious beliefs, focus, this week, on Monday and Tuesday, on the light. Light a candle, perhaps, to join the millions of candles that will be lit and as you do so look to the Moon in her newness for inspiration and brilliance for you and the world as you choose your own new beginnings.
Remember, everything you do has importance. You are the influencer for all that is good. Do not waste what you have.
