Though it has been a part of my life from the moment I was born, my respect for the power of my breath grows rapidly, and I no longer take it for granted.
My understanding of its importance is inhibited, I am sure, by my own human limitations, but I know that focusing on the rhythm of my breathing calms my mind and brings me back into my centre, my beingness. I know that developing and maintaining a measured, regular breathing pattern heightens my consciousness and enables me to operate inter-dimensionally; I know that the slower I breathe, without undue effort, the greater the sense of spiritual connection; and that when I am able to breathe in alignment with the Planet and the Universe - which breathe too - I can reach the place of bliss.
I say these things with the voice of experience, but with no pride. You who read my words may have learned far more about your breath than I have done with mine, but if you have not, then perhaps you too will be inspired to observe, focus on and develop this precious gift which sustains our living bodies all the time, as I in my own small way have done.
