Man's Focus on Money, Nature's Focus on Truth

So much is back to front, upside down, inside out and it can be hard to see the truth as every attempt is made to convince us of another, false reality. Hearing Messrs. Cameron, Clegg and Milliband each claiming the moral high ground over press regulation has been unedifying, and no EU or Cypriot politician has explained why money laundered and other tainted money has been allowed to dominate the banks in Cyprus and elsewhere, resulting in a potentially explosive situation today. It is always about money, for some people believe power comes from money, and money - the lack of it or the acquiring of it - has become the preoccupation of choice for much of the world. It is sad, deluded, and totally counter-productive, and many, many people suffer as a result. [caption id="attachment_1418" align="alignright" width="150"]Nature speaks Perfection of Nature[/caption] When the world seems unreal, there is one constant to remind us of sanity and honesty, and that is nature, which never lets us down even though so often we betray her and fail in our role as steward and guardian of the kingdoms of the natural world. Nature never pretends to be anything other than she is; she lives simply and economically, and in balance when we allow it. She comforts us too, and I was reminded of this when, this morning, I heard the birds greet the day and watched a stoat in winter ermine chase across the garden, doing what their ancestors have done for thousands of years. Nature lives timelessly and perfectly, and while we live perfectly too, we have far more to learn. 1. Ah, yes . . . the issue of the balance of nature. Chris Griscom once said something to the effect that, when we spend time in nature, we learn where we are out of balance within ourselves.
