The next two days, 23-24 April 2014, will bear witness to the climax of a Cardinal Grand Cross that has been building in its energy, inexorably, since March 2011. Waxing and waning in their combined potency, the planets of Mars, Jupiter, Pluto and Uranus have been treading a stately astrological dance as they have moved together and apart in their determined intent to bring change to the planet and to you.
It is no coincidence that this Grand Cross of the strongest planets takes place between a lunar and a solar eclipse, each just 13 days apart from each other. Astrologers write that this period of time, in April 2014, is the last of the major challenges of this long period, but I see it more as a signpost for the future that reflects your past back to you and shows you where you can go. Your past is done but its shadow remains, waiting to be released by you – only you – and it is only when you have done so that you are able to reveal the true spirit which is yours, and to stand in your truth. That is what this Cardinal Grand Cross is all about.
The challenge is global as well as personal, and the signs are all around you as the basest aspects of being human are on vivid display – cruelty and betrayal in Syria, greed and revenge in Ukraine, judgment and blame in South Korea – while the innocent caught up in the games of the powerful suffer hugely. Your challenge is to help the world to change, as well as to change yourself.
Challenge, always, is opportunity too. Let this Cardinal Grand Cross and the energies it brings, blow you forward and perhaps off-course as you cease your resistance to the unknown, for stubbornness is futile. It is the time for wisdom and for enlightenment, but you will achieve neither through living in the past. Claim your right to be; live, speak and breathe your truth, and see how the world around you changes, too.
