For many Christians, today, Good Friday, is one of sadness with a focus on the death and suffering of one man long ago, but seen in a broader spiritual context it is a time to celebrate vigorously and joyfully life and the greater life that comes from the inevitable and constant process of death and rebirth. We are helped particularly in our quest for resurrection when the lunar influence of Aries is upon us, for she is a sign both of power and of fire, of intent and achievement – and her energy can be felt forcefully and dramatically as she burns out our limitations and destroys what does not serve us.
At another level, too, the power of the Easter Festival aligned with that of an Aries Full Moon affects our planet and our human race: like a forest fire waiting to come ablaze, embers are smouldering beneath the façade of normality in our world of matter and soon they will catch fire, necessarily so in order to precipitate our personal and global resurrection. For this is what the message of Easter is all about, the ending of duality and separation from the divine Unknown and the chance to claim our human immortality.
Let the fire of Aries within and upon you burn strongly this Easter weekend and let this time be filled with life and love and thanks for all that is and is to come; remember too, perhaps, the story of one man’s efforts, some two thousand years ago, to teach us what it means to be spiritual and to be human, and to show us what power really is all about.
