Sometimes the clamours of the human world in its microcosmic state prevent us seeing the significance of the bigger picture set before us for our enlightenment, which affects our spiritual balance.
Conflict is all around us – in the weekend riots in London precipitated by a schism within society and an intent to destroy that society; in the global financial system which is teetering between an illusion of security and the reality of disintegration; within the EU as member states struggle, impossibly, to resolve conflicting monetary needs including the wishes of the haves and the have-nots; in the American political (congressional) system, the result of which has impacted, detrimentally, the well-being of the US and the world; in Africa and other countries where the desperate needs of millions are in conflict with a driving demand to exploit the riches of those lands; where the needs of the globe are challenged by the demands of Man.Meanwhile, a discovery of major importance about our source and place in the universe goes largely unreported in the media today, and that is the discovery of a belt of anti-matter around us, “the most abundant source of antiprotons near the Earth” (Alssandro Bruno, co-author of the analysis). It will help us understand more about the formation both of our planet and of our universe, and may take us far beyond that also. It will raise more questions than there are answers, which is good, and will challenge many of the accepted beliefs of the beginnings of human life. And there will be more revelations to come which will create further shocks.
While, of course, it is right to be aware of what is happening around us in our physical reality, and to help where we can to bring harmony to places of conflict, there is a difference between voyeurism and gossip, of which we see so much now, and an approach of understanding and compassion, which is a little lacking. It is very possible to have the latter over events in the human world and at the same time an awareness of our cosmic connections, the microcosm and the macrocosm working together in us as one. This combination of vision and practicality works well and keeps us in spiritual balance, and this is essential for our wellbeing, the wellbeing of all.
