Today marks the birth of a dear friend, and as I have been thinking of her as her special day dawns I have been reflecting on why birth days are so important.
They are of course a celebration of a new incarnation, but they are also are an opportunity to honour a unique "one off" human being and also a brave and loving soul who has volunteered, with you and me, to help the planet and the Plan of God - even if they do not know this consciously. It is the one day in the year when they deserve to be centre stage.Being the centre of attention, being feted and gifted is not easy for some people who are modest or who may suffer from issues to do with self-worth. For others, to have their birth day forgotten or ignored, or just paid lip service, can be painful too and very hurtful. Birth days can be an emotional fulcrum and our feelings and reactions to them can be a revealing confirmation about our life lessons and learnings, and our karmic issues.
The day and even the time of our birth is planned meticulously, and many beings are involved in ensuring the astrological and other conditions are fulfilled perfectly to ensure we return to our human home with the best start possible to achieve our new life purpose. Birth days, therefore, are a time not just to be celebrated for who we are, but also for us, on our birth days, to remember those who worked so hard to help us arrive, and who are there for us always, our greatest supporters and source of strength, and love. Our Helpers in Spirit.
