Developing the quality of discernment is one of the hardest requirements of our current soul journey, particularly now at this time of extraordinary transition into the unknown.
Because we are creatures driven, generally, by mind and emotion and often the expectations of others, it can be hard to observe with the eyes of wisdom what is happening around us and within ourselves, particularly when we hear from all sides the judgment of others about how it should be and how it will be, often based on wishful thinking or the desire to be right. In fact, there is no right or wrong as we undergo the ultimate opportunity of choice about the way ahead, but clarity of understanding helps as we share the responsibility of this great experience, and where it will take our beautiful planet.Discernment, today and for me, tells me that governments run by non-elected bureaucrats imposed upon citizens, as in Greece and Italy, cannot succeed particularly when they demand unacceptable changes to their quality of life; that there is not enough real money in the world to pay off all the debt there is; that the continuing refusal of world leaders to accept the importance of caring for the environment will precipitate a retaliation from Gaia; and that, despite all this, many people believe that life will carry on as normal, at least for them. It will not, but this not bad!
If I look beyond this time of great change I see the possibility of a simpler, fairer way of life where money is not the determinant of success or failure, where countries are more able to care for their people themselves within a strong community ethos of relative equality, where Earth is respected for her importance to all who depend upon her for our wellbeing, and where spiritual values prevail whether recognised or not, helping the individual and collective soul journey.
What I observe now in the world is the necessary precursor to what is to come, an age of tolerance and kindness, and not so far from now. In the end, however, it all depends on human choice, yours and mine. The eyes of discernment, when seeing clearly, cannot fail to bring about perfect choice and perfect action, for the good of all.
