Climate change is top of the news agenda, and not because of the imminent Copenhagen Summit. I have said before that this is the time when what has been hidden will be revealed, often unpalatably at least and sometimes shockingly. Many of the people who care about the wellbeing of the Planet will be in despair as climate-change sceptics use the ammunition they have been given in order to sabotage the Summit before it has begun and to justify their opposition to environmental change.
Meanwhile, the scientists in Britain who are accused of misrepresenting evidence in order to undermine these sceptics are, if it is true, hoist by their own petard. By losing their objectivity they have damaged the work of decades and, potentially, brought about exactly that which they were trying to prevent. It is ironic, and it is karma in action.
Because of these exposures the real battle lines are drawn and visible between those who care and those who do not - except for selfish interest. The coming days will reveal much about intent and priority concerning the most important issue confronting humanity at the moment. It will be good to know, and hopefully the seriousness of the situation and the truths behind it will precipitate a universal demand for meaningful action, not just lip service.
