th Ray is about magic, about order, about ceremony and organisation, and about ritual – all descriptions that have different connotations depending on your viewpoint. Essentially, however, it is about rhythm.
The more we have rhythm in our lives, the more we have well-being, and it is impossible to be in a state of peace without rhythm.

I talk to the point of being boring about the lessons we can learn from watching nature, our greatest teacher. Nature lives through an intuitive understanding of the rhythms of the seasons, the moon and the sun, of warmth and light, of cold and dark, of activity or dormancy, of regularity and of community, even of ritual. Year after year I watch a pair of red kites perform an elaborate courtship dance on the high thermals before building and decorating with sheep’s wool their nest in the larches, mating high up on the same branch in an old oak and nursing together their eggs and then young before separating in autumn. Their ritual is unique to their species, perhaps even to them: it is their rhythm of life, and beautiful to observe.
It is no coincidence that, just today, there are reports on a study by scientists at Ohio State University who have found that eating meals at the same time every day, watching less than half an hour’s television a day, and having regular bedtimes stop children becoming overweight and having emotional issues during childhood and then as an adult. I believe it is very true that children and animals like and need stability and structure, but without excessive control: we all need freedom to explore and grow, and be ourselves.
The Universal Law of Rhythm is about movement and balance, and the 7th Ray is underpinned by this principle. Within the Cosmos, there is constant movement as stars and planets participate in a constant, endless precession through the universes, a sequence of steps that are perfectly performed like the most intricate dance, regulated and bound by a divine template that regulates everything. They move to a pulse, a heartbeat that is regular and rhythmic, and never misses a beat. So it could be for us.
It helps to allow the natural rhythms of life to govern us, to have flexibility and freedom but within a structure of simplicity and order even at this time of great transformation. It does not mean living in the past, nor fearing change, nor avoiding adventure.
If your life sometimes seems frantic, chaotic, and very stressful, you may wish to look at the rhythm of your personal world and see if you can introduce more balance. It would help in many ways, not least in the process of your realignment to the 7th Ray. The Cosmos moves and changes all the time, but perfectly: like the red kites, you could do the same.
